Transitions and effects: choose and combine them thoughtfully

Understand transitions versus effects and explore CLIPVIDE’s six new transitions.

For version 0.31.262 · Interface and features may change during beta.

01

A transition connects; an effect changes a clip

A transition works at the connection between two clips. An effect changes the appearance of a clip or part of it. Arrange the footage first, then choose what suits each connection. A simple cut can work better than a prominent transition, especially during speech.

02

Explore the new collection

The top of the transition list includes Golden Silk Curtain, Glass Wings, Black Ink, Smoke Gate, Diagonal Metal Shutter and Light Tunnel. Silk suits a celebratory look, ink and smoke suggest drama, and the shutter or tunnel suit energetic pacing. These are creative starting points rather than fixed rules.

03

Adjust duration and strength

Select the cut, watch the demonstration and choose a transition. Adjust duration and strength, then play from before the connection. An overly long transition can hide an important moment; a short one may suit fast movement. Copy a transition to another connection or remove it if it distracts.

04

Combine effects and review the result

The clip effect list provides separate strength, disable and delete controls. Turn off one effect at a time to understand its contribution. Complex combinations may require more computing resources and export time. Check playback and a short export; the six new transitions do not add their own soundtrack.
