CLIPVIDE

Full user guide

Updated for Windows interface 0.31.644 · 22.10.2026

This guide covers the Windows editor. The website does not operate your project. The mobile interface is different.

In the app: Help → In-app guide and help, or Help → Ask AI.

Connect a channel and publish to YouTube

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Social publishing wizard
  2. Open Publish, then Raw footage to published video. Sign into CLIPVIDE and choose YouTube. The YouTube account connection section is at the bottom of the publishing screen.
  3. Choose Connect YouTube channel, authorize in the Google window, then return to Check connection. Verify the intended channel name; Google sign-in to CLIPVIDE does not automatically connect a channel.
  4. Prepare and review the final video. Enter a title, privacy and whether it is made for kids, and verify the destination account. Publishing requires explicit confirmation; exporting or connecting alone does not publish.
  5. If the intended channel is missing or Google review is pending, do not assume connection succeeded. If an upload outcome is uncertain, check the channel before retrying to avoid duplicates.

Export performance and acceleration reports

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Export settings and video
  2. After a completed export, download the last export performance report: CLIPVIDE-export-report.json. If disabled, complete an export first; an existing export can also be inspected through history.
  3. The report records export stages, timings and the actual encoding engine. A hardware report alone does not prove that a particular export used the GPU.
  4. Compare computers using the same project, version and settings. Do not change quality or audio settings merely to measure speed.

Save a workspace with free panels

  1. Location in the interface: View → Free panels
  2. Open My workspace, enter a name and click Save workspace. Choose a saved name and click Load workspace to restore it. Save again after changes you want to retain.
  3. Layouts are stored on this computer and browser. They are not project backups and do not automatically synchronize to another computer. Default layout restores the normal arrangement.

Help and Ask AI

  1. Location in the interface: Help → In-app guide and help
  2. Open Help → In-app guide and help for local search, or Help → Ask AI to open the question field.
  3. Describe your task. Guide searches locally; Ask AI uses the personal OpenAI key configured in Transcribe and translate and may incur charges. The guide works without a key.
  4. Show me where opens the appropriate menu and highlights a control without editing. X or Esc dismisses the highlight. AI cannot see your screen or edit your project.

Music library and preview pause

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Music and volume
  2. Choose a category and track. Play previews it; Pause stops the preview. The active card shows a playing indicator.
  3. Each music card has A2, A3 and A4 buttons. Click one to add the track directly to that channel; there is no separate target selector.
  4. Use the card’s add-to-timeline button to add the track. Then edit its position, duration and volume.
  5. Check the track’s license and attribution requirements. Do not assume every library track is attribution-free.

Volume points and moving audio between tracks

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Mixer and levels
  2. Click the audio clip’s central volume line to create a point. Add another point to bound a volume change.
  3. Drag an existing point to adjust its position and gain. Right-click a point to delete it.
  4. Independent audio can move between A1 and A2. Audio speed and volume are separate controls: 100% speed is normal playback.
  5. If original audio sounds normal but speeds up after detaching, check for a previously saved speed setting. Intentional speed changes must not be reset automatically.

Audio continuing after the video

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Export settings and video
  2. Audio may continue after the final video clip.
  3. You do not need to trim the audio or add an image to bypass an end-of-video error. Check the exported file in an external player for black frames and complete audio.
  4. If export fails, verify the installed version and provide the failure message to support.

Project backups and restore points

  1. Location in the interface: Project
  2. Open Project in the top menu and choose Versions.
  3. Choose a date and time and click Restore. A restore point of the current state is saved before the older state is loaded.
  4. Project ZIP creates a portable backup including available media. Keep a separate copy. Automatic restore points are not an unlimited archive.

Noise reduction as an audio effect

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Speech noise reduction
  2. Open Effects and choose Noise Reduction. Drag it onto an audio clip or select the clip and open the effect.
  3. Set the method and strength, process and compare the result. Use Apply to apply it to the selected clip only.
  4. Restore Original restores the original audio. The source file is retained. This does not clone voices or separate speakers.

Music library — add to timeline

My toolbox

  1. Location in the interface: Edit
  2. Add tools, effects and transitions using search and filters.
  3. Create groups, rename items, choose icons and reorder shortcuts by dragging or with the arrows. Click Done editing to use the shortcuts.
  4. Create multiple named toolboxes and switch between them. Changes save automatically on this computer; check the save confirmation. Original controls remain available.

Menus and independent panels

  1. Location in the interface: The top menus; Media, Transitions and Effects in the left panel
  2. In My workspace, enter a name and choose Save workspace. Load workspace restores a saved workspace; Default layout restores the standard arrangement.

Google voiceover and key storage

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Text to speech
  2. Enter a Google API Key, choose a voice, language and style, and enter your narration text.
  3. Select Remember Google key to retain the key in this browser. It is stored without encryption and is not part of the project.
  4. Generation and previews use your Google quota. Select voices by name in the voice list.

Windows updates and project safety

  1. Location in the interface: Help → Software updates
  2. In an existing installation, use the app's update-check button. When an update is offered, download and install it; the app closes and reopens during the update.
  3. Check the displayed version after reopening. Test and regular update channels may offer different versions.
  4. If updating fails, keep the exact error. An insufficient-disk-space error requires checking the drive used by the update, not randomly deleting media or projects.
  5. Back up using a project ZIP before moving computers. Updating the app does not transfer projects. Restore the app only with the recovery tool supplied for the matching package; recovery does not undo project edits.

AI editing adviser

  1. Location in the interface: Help → In-app guide and help
  2. Transcribe your material or add timed captions first.
  3. Enter your own OpenAI API key in Captions. Open AI editing adviser above the help question field.
  4. Describe your goal, optionally choose IN–OUT only, then Analyze and suggest. Each analysis sends text to OpenAI and is billed separately.
  5. Review the suggestions. Jump to segment or Select IN–OUT to use the existing range editing/export tools. Nothing is deleted automatically.
  6. The assistant reads text only; it cannot judge visuals, noise or silence.

Timeline FX editing

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Effects
  2. Existing visual effects appear as linked blocks in the bottom FX track; processing is not duplicated.
  3. Drag edges to trim and drag the body to move within a clip or to another clip in the same video track. The whole block must fit in one clip.
  4. Right-click to edit times, strength, toggle or delete a part. Place the playhead inside the block and choose Split at playhead. Strength and enabled state are shared across parts of one effect.
  5. Transition blocks can be resized or dragged to another cut, replacing a transition there. Right-click for edit/copy/paste/delete. Transitions remain attached to cuts and cannot be split.
  6. Speed effects open the existing speed editor on double-click; speed changes clip duration. Ctrl+Z undoes edits. Save and export preserve visual effect intervals.

Slow Motion and Fast Motion effects

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Effects
  2. Choose speed and apply to the entire clip or a region measured in original clip seconds. The dialog previews the new duration.
  3. This changes video and sound, timeline duration and exported files. It can be combined with visual effects.
  4. Edit or remove the speed effect from the speed rows. Ctrl+Z restores timing and affected tracks in one operation.
  5. V1 captions and later items follow the new timing; music keeps its own tempo. A locked affected track blocks the change.
  6. For V2 and later video tracks, only the selected layer changes.

Export audio only

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Export settings and video
  2. Open Export settings and choose Export type → Audio only.
  3. Choose MP3 with 128–320 kbps quality, or uncompressed 24-bit WAV. Both are stereo 48 kHz.
  4. Export the full project or the marked In/Out range; choose a filename and save location.
  5. The audio mix retains clip audio, recordings and music, with mutes, volumes, fades, cleanup, speeds and mixer ducking. Duration follows the main project timeline.
  6. No video frames are rendered. Switch the export type back to Video and audio · MP4 for a movie.
  7. Audio exports are available in the export history too.

Center Suction transition

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Transitions
  2. The outgoing picture collapses rapidly to the center and the incoming picture expands from that point.
  3. Adjust the duration using the transition controls or bar. Start with 0.5–0.8 seconds.
  4. The transition uses matching preview and export formulas. Audio and source trims are retained.

Move all tracks from a point

  1. Location in the interface: The three-arrow right or left button above the timeline
  2. Choose the three-arrow right or left button above the timeline, then click a point on the timeline and drag.
  3. Items from that point move together: video, audio, captions, overlays and effects. An item spanning the chosen point moves whole; its source trims and internal effects are retained.
  4. An affected locked track blocks the move. Ctrl+Z undoes the whole move in one action; Esc cancels the tool.

Translate through CLIPVIDE account

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Transcribe and translate
  2. Select Hebrew or English as the caption language, then press Translate existing captions. The service must be enabled on the server.
  3. Only text changes. Timing, channel, size and position remain. Undo restores the original.
  4. You can also select a target language before transcription to transcribe and translate together. If translation fails, source captions are kept.
  5. Translation uses the shared AI budget, not transcription minutes. Repeated source/target retrieves its saved result without a new provider call.
  6. The current allowance permits one target language for each source group. For an additional target, select My personal API key.

CLIPVIDE account transcription

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Transcribe and translate
  2. Select CLIPVIDE account AI allowance and sign in through My account. Refresh to see the remaining time.
  3. Select the scope and press Transcribe. Existing captions are preserved in Complete missing captions.
  4. Requests are saved on this computer. Retrying the same audio reads the previous result without sending it for transcription again. If its status is uncertain, contact support.

Multiple effects per clip

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Effects
  2. New effects append to the list, up to 8 per clip.
  3. Each row has its own strength, enable checkbox and delete button. Disabled effects stay saved.
  4. Enabled effects run in list order in playback and export. Zero strength bypasses the effect. Ctrl+Z undoes changes.
  5. Copy Look and personal action recipes retain the entire effect list.

Choose settings and folder before export

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Export settings and video
  2. Export MP4 and Export options open a settings dialog without rendering. Choose file name, full video or In/Out range, preset/resolution, video quality, compression, frame rate, hardware and loudness.
  3. Compact increases compression; High raises quality or bitrate and may create larger files. These change actual encoding settings. The supported file format is MP4 with H.264.
  4. Presets include 480p, 720p, 1080p, YouTube and portrait Instagram/TikTok. The summary shows exact dimensions and selected duration.
  5. Supported browsers can choose the save file and folder before rendering. Cancelling the save picker does not export. Other browsers download when finished according to their settings.
  6. Export starts only after Start export and any required project-check confirmation. Extra tools include a short sample, project check, hardware report and export history.

Clean monologue background noise — local AI

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Speech noise reduction
  2. Choose a method and strength, process the audio and compare the original with the result. Apply the processed result to the clip.
  3. The processed copy is used in playback and export. Restore Original removes the processing while retaining fades and volume points.
  4. Processing is local and does not require an OpenAI API key. Strong processing may damage speech. Complete noise removal or a result identical to CapCut is not guaranteed.

Save all subtitle edits and use tracks T1–T3

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Transcribe and translate
  2. Right-click a subtitle and choose Edit all subtitle texts. Edit freely, then press Save all changes at the bottom. Ctrl+Enter saves all; Ctrl+Z undoes the batch.
  3. Enter inserts a new line inside the same subtitle and time range, preserved in preview and export. Split creates two consecutive subtitles instead.
  4. Choose T1, T2 or T3 in the batch editor, single subtitle editor or subtitle list. You can also drag subtitles to another timeline track. Older captions stay on T1.
  5. Different tracks can appear simultaneously: T1 follows the style position, T2 is centered and T3 at the top. Drag individual captions in the monitor to reposition them. Tracks and positions persist in projects and exports.

Automatic vertical face framing

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Vertical framing
  2. Analyze the clip. Processing is local and free. Review the last-frame image: green boxes mark faces and the yellow box shows the vertical crop.
  3. Apply framing and prepare vertical export saves up to 12 source-time points and selects TikTok vertical export. You can choose Instagram Reels instead. Play with the guide, check a short export and adjust manual points as needed. Ctrl+Z restores prior framing.
  4. This first version uses visible frontal faces. It does not recognize identity or track the full body. Hidden/profile faces, quick cuts and crossing people can require manual corrections. Analysis is sampled, not run on every frame.

Complete missing captions across the film

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Transcribe and translate
  2. The default scope is Whole timeline — complete missing captions, regardless of the selected clip. With no captions, it transcribes every timeline clip.
  3. Existing captions, IDs and manual corrections remain unchanged. Only uncovered time ranges are sent for transcription; gaps between captions can include pauses with no speech.
  4. Selected clip and Replace all remain explicit alternatives. Ctrl+Z undoes the result.

Timeline toolbar and gaps after deletion

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. Editing icons share one row above the timeline. Hover an icon to see its action and keyboard shortcut.
  3. Deleting only V1 video retains A1 and displays an empty V1 slot. Hover the slot to reveal snap arrows.
  4. Use the Close gap icon to close the gap before the selected clip. If A1 audio remains in the slot, the app asks before removing it. Ctrl+Z undoes the closure.

Find actions

  1. Location in the interface: Search in the second row
  2. Click Find actions or Ctrl+K and search for a tool, effect or transition in Hebrew or English.
  3. Choose with arrows and Enter, or click a result. Tools open their controls; selecting an effect or transition invokes its card behavior, including immediate application when a suitable target exists.
  4. To preview without applying, open the Effects or Transitions gallery and hover over a thumbnail, or choose Preview and apply.

Favorite effects and transitions

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Effects
  2. Open Effects or Transitions and click the star beside an item.
  3. Choose Favorites in the filter, or search by name in either language.
  4. Favorites are saved on this computer for all projects. Recently viewed lists items opened for preview.

Save personal text styles

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Text and fonts
  2. Set font, size, color, outline, background and animation in Text.
  3. Under My text styles, name the style and click Save current style.
  4. In another project, click its name, type your content, and Add / update T1. Appearance is saved without content or timing.

Add videos

  1. Location in the interface: Media → My media
  2. Videos imported through Add media automatically append to the timeline in file-selection order, directly after the last clip. Existing gaps are preserved. Locked V1/A1 tracks prevent automatic insertion; files remain in media. Images and audio retain their existing manual workflow.
  3. Open My Media and click Add Files.
  4. Choose one or more videos from your computer.
  5. The + button is for manually adding media already in the library. Newly imported videos are appended automatically, so do not add them again unless you want a duplicate.

Search videos and captions

  1. Location in the interface: Media → My media
  2. Open My Media and type a word in the search box.
  3. Results include file names, tags, source transcripts and captions already created on the timeline.
  4. Click a caption result to jump to that moment. Clear shows all files again.

Automatic transcription

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Transcribe and translate
  2. Add a video to the timeline and open CC Captions.
  3. Enter an OpenAI API Key, choose a language and click Transcribe / translate entire timeline.
  4. Once captions are created, you can search their words in My Media.

Edit captions

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Transcribe and translate
  2. After transcription or SRT import, edit the text and start and end times in the caption list.
  3. You can also drag T1 items on the timeline.

Crop video

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Crop frame
  2. Select a V1 clip.
  3. Click Crop in the editing toolbar.
  4. Adjust the crop boundaries in the preview and confirm. Check the result in the monitor.

Split video and audio

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. Place the playhead at the cut and press S to split linked video and audio at the same time. Original A1 audio belongs to its video; independent background music is not split automatically.
  3. Select one component and press Alt+S to split it alone. The arrow beside the scissors offers linked, video-only and audio-only cuts; the context menu offers the same actions.
  4. For separate audio, right-click > Link video & audio for splitting, then explicitly check the video and audio you want. The project saves this split-only link and shows a chain when selected.
  5. A locked linked track blocks the entire split. Ctrl+Z undoes the whole edit. To split one component of attached speed-adjusted or mixed-source audio, detach it first using the existing audio-detachment action.

Delete video or audio separately

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. Select the video or audio item on its track.
  3. Click Delete item or press Delete to remove only the selected item.
  4. Full clip removes V1 and A1 together; use it when you want both removed.

Duplicate audio to boost volume

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → A1 volume and speed
  2. Select a clip whose audio is on A1.
  3. Click Duplicate A1 to A2.
  4. Adjust track volumes in the mixer and listen to avoid clipping.

Add a transition and preview it

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Transitions
  2. Select a cut between adjacent timeline clips and open Transitions. Click the intended cut for explicit selection; selecting the first clip uses the cut after it.
  3. Hover over the small thumbnail or focus it with the keyboard to preview. Previewing does not change the project.
  4. Clicking a transition card applies it immediately. For a larger demonstration before applying, use the separate Preview and apply button; cancelling that dialog does not apply the transition.
  5. Resize the transition with its timeline handles and review playback and an export sample. Suitable adjacent clips and an unlocked track are required. Ctrl+Z undoes the application.

Apply an effect and preview it

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Effects
  2. Select a timeline clip and open Effects. Hover over a thumbnail to preview without changing the clip.
  3. Clicking a visual effect card applies it immediately to the selected clip. The separate Preview and apply button opens a larger demonstration with an explicit apply action.
  4. Adjust strength in the clip effect list. Disable or delete individual effects; a clip can retain up to eight effects.
  5. Dedicated tools such as noise reduction and speed may open their own settings dialog. Review the result and a short export; Ctrl+Z undoes changes.

Two preview monitors and two physical displays

  1. Location in the interface: View → Source and program monitors
  2. The workspace window can span both displays. Free panels lets you move and resize areas independently and save their arrangement in My workspace.

Record screen, camera or microphone

  1. Location in the interface: Record screen above the timeline
  2. Click Record screen on the editing toolbar, or open Record and choose screen or camera. Microphone in that menu opens A2 narration.
  3. Select your main screen only and allow sharing in the browser. Shared audio depends on browser and source support.
  4. Separate window opens controls you can drag to your second screen. Minimize leaves a small Stop/Show controls bar, which can appear when recording that screen. Blocked popups fall back to the compact bar.
  5. The editor remains usable while recording. Closing the separate controller does not stop the take. Stop to review, then Add to project. Wait for adding to finish before closing the editor.

Music and mixer

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Music and volume
  2. Open Music to choose a track from the library or import a file.
  3. Add it to A3 and position it on the timeline.
  4. In the Mixer, adjust volume and music ducking during speech.

Export video

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Export settings and video
  2. Choose a filename, full video or In/Out range, preset/resolution and quality. Review the dimensions and duration summary.
  3. Click Start export and confirm the project check if shown. Wait for completion and save or download through the browser's save flow.
  4. The YouTube preset configures an export file; it does not upload to a channel. Direct publishing uses the publishing flow and a separate confirmation.

Save and transfer projects

  1. Location in the interface: Project
  2. CLIPVIDE automatically saves the project on the computer where it runs.
  3. To save a copy with all source files, click Project ZIP package.
  4. On another computer, open the package using Open ZIP package.

Undo and redo

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. Click Undo to reverse your last action, or Redo to repeat it.
  3. To restore an older state, open Versions in the top bar.

  2. In My Media, click a scene name on a file card to assign and rate a take.
  3. Use the arrows on the scene board to reorder scenes and mark them Ready or Skip.
  4. Click Add the best take from each scene to create an initial timeline.

Mark an In/Out range

  1. Location in the interface: Edit
  2. Open the range-selection icon menu above the timeline, position the playhead and choose In.
  3. Move it to the end and click Out; yellow boundary lines mark the range.
  4. Click Split at boundaries to create a separate section. You can also apply an effect to V1 clips in the range, or a transition at its start.

Phone message bubble

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Text and fonts
  2. Choose Incoming message bubble or Outgoing message bubble, write the message and set its start and end times.
  3. Click Add / update on T1. Drag the bubble in the monitor to position it; it also appears in the exported video.

Fade In and Fade Out for video and audio

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Clip bounds and video fades / Audio → A1 fades
  2. Select the video or audio clip on the timeline to show its handles and fade points.
  3. Drag the fade point at the beginning for Fade In and the point at the end for Fade Out. You can also use Video → Clip bounds and video fades or Audio → A1 fades.
  4. Play from the clip start and check the exported file too. Ctrl+Z undoes the change.

Music fades directly on the timeline

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Music and volume
  2. Click the audio clip’s central volume line to create a point. Add another point to bound a volume change.
  3. Drag an existing point to adjust its position and gain. Right-click a point to delete it.
  4. For a fade-in, set the starting point to zero and a later point to the desired gain. Reverse this arrangement at the end for a fade-out.

Save the current frame as a still

  1. Location in the interface: Photos → Save video frame
  2. Pause on the desired frame in the Source or Program monitor.
  3. Click Save still below that monitor. A PNG downloads and is added to project media.
  4. The still comes from the original video at source resolution, without editor captions, overlays or effects. Select a video with an available frame if saving fails.

Drag clips and change their order

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. Drag the body of a V1 clip, away from trim handles. Video and A1 audio move together in the live preview.
  3. Drop over another clip to insert before it; a yellow line marks the destination. Dropping on empty space adjusts the preceding gap.
  4. Use Ctrl or Shift for multiple selection; select a contiguous group for a time shift. Drag near the timeline edge to scroll. Ctrl+Z undoes the change.

Playhead and time ruler

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. Hover over the ruler or the strip above its numbers to see a yellow cursor. Hovering alone does not seek.
  3. Click and drag on the ruler to seek. The empty timeline strip also supports scrubbing.
  4. Use zoom + and − for precision. Ruler spacing follows zoom and scrolling.

Slow export and hardware acceleration

Export progress and cancellation

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Export settings and video
  2. During export the window shows the current stage and elapsed time. You can cancel the job.
  3. When complete, the window stays open with the result and elapsed time. Open video folder and close opens the file location and closes the completion window.
  4. If an error appears, retain the message and check the file before sharing.

Export frame rate

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Export settings and video
  2. In Export options choose Automatic frame rate or 30 fps.
  3. The direct fast path preserves uniform 24 or 25 fps sources. Mixed sources or another path may use 30 fps.
  4. Check the exported file or performance report for its actual frame rate.

Export sample and file validation

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Create export sample
  2. Open Export options and click Export preview for an MP4 sample around the playhead.
  3. After full export, open Check exported file for validation and a performance report.
  4. Export history lists previous exports. Also play the resulting file to check pictures, captions and sound.

Link captions to clips and source time

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Link captions to clips
  2. Source-linked captions follow clip movement, trimming and speed changes.
  3. Check synchronization after edits. Unlink captions turns off source tracking.

Manual vertical framing with points

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Vertical framing
  2. Save framing points at source times in a selected clip to animate the crop manually. The guide is approximate.

Noise reduction and Enhance Voice

Brand kits and importing kits

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Brand kits and logo
  2. Export a kit as JSON and import it on another computer; it can include logo data.
  3. Apply the kit and add its intro or logo using their separate controls. Transfer is file-based, without automatic cloud synchronization.
  4. Select a saved kit to see an appearance preview and included items. Apply updates captions and all existing text overlays while preserving text content. Preview illustrates style, not the final video.

More video tracks and four screens

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Layers and split screen
  2. Open Layers to add video tracks, or use the timeline add-track icon.
  3. Select four media files and click Create four screens at the current playhead position.
  4. Arrange existing tracks as four screens uses V1 and active overlays. Ensure all four clips overlap in time.

Additional audio tracks

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Music and volume
  2. Open Audio / Music and click Add audio track.
  3. Choose a destination track and an audio file. Extra tracks can hold music or speech.
  4. Move the clip on the timeline, adjust volume and fades, and check mixer settings.

Video speed and speed zones

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Clip speed
  2. For a speed zone, position the playhead, set duration and rate, and click Add at playhead.

  2. Select a clip, set the playhead time, and adjust camera zoom and horizontal/vertical position.
  3. Click Add / update at playhead, then repeat at another time with a different position.
  4. Choose eased or linear motion. Timeline diamonds can be moved; remove a nearby point or clear all motion.

Translate existing captions

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Transcribe and translate
  2. Click Translate existing captions to the selected language. This uses your OpenAI key.
  3. Review translation and timing before export. Service usage may incur charges.

Relink missing source files

  1. Location in the interface: Media → My media
  2. When Missing source files appears, select multiple files to match by name or relink an individual file.
  3. Relinking restores the source without replacing edits. Check that you picked the correct file.
  4. For another computer use a project ZIP package containing media, rather than only a JSON project.

Edit still images

  1. Location in the interface: Photos → Photo studio and editing
  2. Open Images / Edit image and select or upload a picture.
  3. Set its format, crop, background, rotation and color.
  4. Save to project or save and add to V1. Still images have a duration on the timeline.

AI narration from text

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Text to speech
  2. Choose an available service and voice, enter the text and the matching API key. Google and OpenAI require their own keys.
  3. To retain a key on this computer, use the service dialog’s save-key option.
  4. Generate the narration and add it to the timeline. Move, split and adjust it like other audio clips. The service provider may charge for generation.

Check project before exporting

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Check project before export
  2. Open Export options and click Check project.
  3. Review media, timeline and caption findings; jump to the relevant location and correct as needed.
  4. This check helps identify issues but does not replace watching the exported video.
  5. Errors appear first. Use All, Errors or Review notes to filter cards. Each card includes guidance and the existing navigation or repair buttons. After fixing, click Check again.

Choose the interface language

  1. Location in the interface: The language button at the top
  2. Choose Hebrew, English, العربية or Русский in the app's language selector. This changes the interface and help, not your own text or captions.
  3. The full guide opens in the interface language; its header also has a language selector.

Limitations and externally dependent features

  1. Location in the interface: Export & Publish → Export settings and video
  2. Automatic face framing exists, but it is not identity or full-body tracking. Hidden faces, profiles and fast motion may need manual corrections.
  3. Local noise reduction and voice enhancement exist. This does not imply speaker separation or guaranteed removal of every noise.
  4. Brand kits transfer as JSON; projects do not automatically synchronize through the cloud. Export acceleration depends on hardware and a successful encoder test.
  5. Direct publishing requires a connected account and provider permissions. Signing into CLIPVIDE with Google does not itself connect a YouTube channel, and Google approval may still be pending.

Play from the beginning

  1. Location in the interface: Edit
  2. Click Play from the beginning above the time ruler.
  3. The timeline scrolls left, selects the first clip at its trimmed start and begins playback.

Playback diagnostics

  1. Location in the interface: View
  2. Keep playback running for 8 seconds. CLIPVIDE-playback-report.json records video and audio player states and transport events.
  3. The report does not change the project. F12 is unnecessary. A report collected while paused cannot capture a playback problem.

Delete from playhead to end

  1. Location in the interface: Edit
  2. Position the playhead at the cut point.
  3. Click the right arrow above the ruler and confirm. Items crossing the playhead are trimmed; later items are removed on all tracks.
  4. Ctrl+Z restores the deletion. Locked tracks must be unlocked.

Preview playback speed

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. Right-click a video clip and choose Preview speed only: ×1, ×1.5, ×2, ×3 or ×4.
  3. The speed applies to timeline viewing, including following clips. Choose ×1 to restore normal viewing. Clip duration and export speed settings are unchanged.

Delete or resize a transition

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Transitions
  2. Hover over a transition and click ×, or open it and choose Delete transition. Ctrl+Z restores it.
  3. Drag its edge to change duration. Resizing pauses playback and clears the active transition preview; play again to check the new length.

Keyboard shortcut map

  1. Location in the interface: Help → Keyboard shortcuts
  2. Open Keyboard shortcuts from Help. Search an action or a key. Top rows show fixed shortcuts; remaining rows show your current custom bindings.
  3. Click a key field and press a new combination to change it. Effect and transition rows also let you choose the action. Settings are saved in this browser.
  4. Shortcuts work outside text fields. Conflicting or reserved combinations are rejected. Restore defaults resets custom keys and effect/transition assignments.

Edit video through transcript

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Edit video through transcript
  2. Load lines and mark the speech to remove. Cards show cut selections; the summary shows seconds removed and remaining. Overlapping ranges count once. Clear cut selections resets the checkboxes.
  3. Listen to the boundaries before applying. Cutting removes both video and audio and shifts captions and later tracks. Keep a playable segment. Undo with Ctrl+Z.

Shorten silences

  1. Location in the interface: Audio → Shorten silences
  2. Select a regular 100% speed clip without voiceover or independent text, then Audio > Shorten silences. Analyze locally; no API key is needed.
  3. Review numbered ranges and listen around their boundaries. The summary shows selected ranges and seconds removed and remaining. Select all or clear selections as needed.
  4. Apply removes selected ranges and shifts later tracks and captions. Undo with Ctrl+Z. Only the selected clip is analyzed; quiet speech may be detected as silence, so review carefully.

Build my draft

  1. Location in the interface: Media → Build my draft
  2. Short montage now selects up to four distinct source sections per video, interleaves videos and uses at most 65% of their source duration. Optional local audio analysis aligns some cuts to estimated beats. This does not understand story content or protect spoken sentences; use for musical montages and review.
  3. Open Media > Build my draft after videos finish uploading. Select videos, reorder with arrows, choose a style, target duration and beginning or middle source sections.
  4. Choose an uploaded audio file if desired. Prepare a proposal and review source ranges and duration. Default appends; the explicit replacement checkbox clears the current sequence and its captions, music and overlays. Undo is available.
  5. Apply to timeline and edit normally. This local version uses style rules, not scene detection or semantic rhythm understanding. Speech captions require the separate transcription tool and a paid API key. Reels does not automatically crop to portrait. Short music is not looped.

Photo slideshow

  1. Location in the interface: Photos → Photo slideshow
  2. Choose Family, Wedding, Birthday or Business and click Create. More options include 2–15 seconds per photo, fitting duration to music, gentle motion and an optional title on the first photo. Short music is not automatically looped.
  3. Default appends to your timeline. Explicit replacement clears the current sequence and captions, music and overlays. Undo restores the prior edit. Photos and music files remain in media. Edit the result and export MP4. Everything is local; no AI API cost.
  4. Create now prepares all photo preview files sequentially before applying. For an existing slideshow, click Prepare timeline photos for playback in Media, wait for Photos ready, then play. Preview files are 640×360 at 15fps; export quality is unchanged.

Cinematic time cuts

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Cinematic time cuts
  2. Right-click a V1 clip and choose Cinematic time cuts. Use a normal clip at 100% speed without complex edits.
  3. Choose the interval and deletion duration, with an optional short flash at each jump.
  4. Applying cuts shortens video and audio and shifts subsequent captions and tracks. Ctrl+Z restores the operation.

Edit a transition while watching

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Transitions
  2. Right-click a transition and choose live transition editing, or use this action in the transition picker.
  3. The monitor stays visible. Change the type or duration and replay the transition to review it.
  4. Changes also apply to export. Finish closes the window; Ctrl+Z undoes the edits.

Copy a caption and its export size

  1. Location in the interface: Text & Captions → Transcribe and translate
  2. Select a caption and press Ctrl+C, move the playhead and press Ctrl+V outside text fields.
  3. The copy retains text, track and position. Duration is limited by available project length; edit the copy independently.
  4. Caption size is relative to the monitor video image and is scaled for export.

Personal action presets and shortcuts

  1. Location in the interface: Video → My personal presets
  2. Right-click a configured V1 clip and save its actions as a personal preset.
  3. Choose the settings to include, a name and a key. Presets contain neither media nor API keys.
  4. Select a target clip and press the key outside text fields and dialogs. Only included settings are replaced; Ctrl+Z undoes the operation.
  5. Caption styling applies to the whole project. Time cuts shift subsequent tracks and require 100% clip speed. Preset shortcuts are stored in this browser.

Spacebar playback and pause

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. Press Space to play or pause from the playhead. Click the timeline to return focus after typing.
  3. Space works after interacting with timeline controls; holding the key does not repeatedly toggle playback.
  4. While typing or using an editing dialog, Space belongs to that field or dialog. Return to the timeline to control playback.

Move video and its original audio together

  1. Location in the interface: The toolbar above the timeline and the timeline clips
  2. To move video together with its original audio, drag the body of its V1 timeline clip. Attached A1 audio moves with it. No separate Link button is needed.
  3. Do not drag the A1 move handle to move both: that gesture moves audio only.
  4. Audio already detached into an independent A2 or other track item is not automatically linked to the video. Move it separately and check sync; Ctrl+Z undoes an incorrect move.
  5. Show me where highlights a video timeline clip rather than the media library.

Picture in picture · PiP

  1. Location in the interface: Video → Effects
  2. Place two videos overlapping in time on different video tracks. Select the video to show in the inset and apply the PiP effect from Effects.
  3. Adjust the inset size and position, then play the overlap to review.

Media panel and timeline indicator

  1. Location in the interface: Media → My media
  2. The left panel contains Media, Transitions and Effects. Search for files in the media panel.
  3. A blue plus adds an item; a purple check indicates the file is already on the timeline. This indicator does not replace saving the project.

Monitor quality and video aspect ratio

  1. Location in the interface: View
  2. Choose preview quality in View. Low preview quality can look soft even when the source is sharp.
  3. Monitor quality does not set export quality. Check resolution and compression separately in Export & Publish. Portrait video should retain source proportions; filling a frame may crop image edges.
